Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has admitted he is surprised Liverpool have not offered Mohamed Salah a new contract , with the Egyptian winger having just one year left on his current deal.
Shearer , now a pundit, said: “ I think it’s a good move on Mo Salah’s part after he played such a big role in the win over Manchester United and to come out and say he’s going to play like it’s his last season at the club.”

The situation with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, I wonder why Liverpool didn’t do it.”
“How could Liverpool let three of their key players get to this point? Mo has sent a message, so we don’t have to wonder about his loyalty to the club anymore. But will Liverpool listen and prepare an offer for him or the money he wants? We will see.”
The 32-year-old joined Liverpool from Roma in 2017 and has made 352 appearances in all competitions, scoring 214 goals.
