Spalletti was sacked by the Italian Football Federation after Italy’s 3-0 World Cup qualifier defeat to Norway. With the former Napoli boss ending his tenure with a 3-0 win over Moldova on Monday.

“There is no meeting today, and I can be very clear that we are taking the time to think about it. Not just one person, and not just a name.”

“We still have time, so it’s important that we build projects. That lead to action and see if they can be built on long-term,” Gravina said.

Gennaro Gattuso is now the favourite to take over. While former Roma boss Claudio Ranieri has rejected the offer due to his age at 73.

Another name being talked about is former AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli. But it has been reported that he has reached a verbal agreement with Fiorentina.
